Ramasakkani Rakumarudu, starring Uday and Sapna in lead roles, is directed by Uday Kalluri. The film is touted to be the first ever Canadian Telugu feature. The 26-year-old Uday Kalluri is a "software engineer by profession and an actor by passion".

Talking about the film's subject, he says, "An international student, male protagonist, comes to Canada from India. He falls in love with the female protagonist, who hails from an Indian immigrant family and grew up in Canada. The male protagonist's personality is not in-line with the female protagonist, since they grew up in distinct cultural environment. The female protagonist faces cultural difference with her parents at home as well. The male protagonist comes to know that she is already in a relationship, which makes the male protagonist heart-broken. Later, the female protagonist faces a break-up and the male protagonist helps her come out of depression, which makes her fall in love with him. He also helps clear out differences with her parents. Both, the male and female protagonist, find a balance within their cultural values and decide to get married, hence the movie has a happy ending".

He further says that Ramasakkani Rakumarudu is a message-oriented one portraying social and cultural differences affecting relationships amongst immigrant parents and their children. "Our movie is a fun filled family entertainer with drama, romance, comedy and a great message to the NRI audience," he adds.
