Cat fights among heroines used to be very common.

But in these days of professionalism and political correctness, actresses are maintaining good profile of themselves. And only occasionally things get the better of them.

As it has in the case of Ramya, the heroine of Amrutha Varsham and Rakshitha, who has acted in many Telugu films with leading stars.

There has been acrimonious exchange of words between the two in the press over the relative merits and demerits in their acting style.

The two actresses, who are the leading lights in Kannada cinema now, are acting together in a new movie there.

And as ever with two any competing women, there has been some misunderstanding between the two and that has pilled on to the newspapers.

It is said that things came to a head when Rakshitha was kept waiting by Ramya at the shooting spot. Rakshitha is alleged to have made some pointed observations on this.

Ramya was quick to hit back. She has alleged that Rakshitha was chosen in the film only after many Bollywood actresses Urmila and Sushmitha Sen declined the film. Ramya didn’t stop at that.

She alleged that Rakshitha had to improve her in sentiment scenes. ‘I will not act with her any more,’ she asserted.

Rakshitha, on her part, refused to be drawn into a war of words. She merely said: “I am in films for over four years. Ramya is in cinema for three years’.
