Popular Kannada actress Ramya aspired to try her luck in Tamil. She managed to appear in a couple of films in Tamil including Kuthu and Giri.

However both the movies managed only a mediocre run at the box office and soon she was back to where she began her career. Ramya ventured back to act in Kannada.

Now Gowtham Vasudeva Menon has managed to bring the actress back in Tamil. What more she has successfully changed her name too. Ramya has been re-christened as Dhivya now.

For Varanam Aayiram, Ramya alias Dhivya would act opposite Suriya.

The granddaughter of former Karnataka Chief Minister S M Krishna, Ramya is keen on acting in more films in Tamil. She hopes that change of name would mean a change of fortunes for her.
