Superstar's upcoming mega period film 'Rana' began silently a couple of months back in Chennai, only to be stalled due to the Superstar suddenly falling sick on the same day the shooting for the film began. The director of 'Rana' K.S. Ravikumar took this in his stride despite Superstar's absence from the scene and began shooting portions were superstar was not required first.

Now there are talks going on that Superstar will join back with his 'Rana' team to shoot for the film from October 3. The mass hero had been advised complete rest by his doctors, but sources close to him have divulged that superstar who is getting back to his health will begin to shoot for 'Rana' in a single schedule, non-stop for 100 days.

Sources also reveal that the director on hearing the Superstar coming back to join his team has decided to go ahead with the shoot from the Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad from the beginning of October. 'Rana', will see Rajinikanth in three different avatars, spanning three various time periods. Deepika Padukone will be one of his heroines. Sonu Sood will play an important role in this big project.

Ganja Karuppu was roped in to do the comedy track after Vadivelu was ousted from the project because of his controversial speeches against a film star during the election campaigns...

'Rana' will see tunes from the keyboard of A.R. Rahman. The art director for this film is Rajeevan, Rathinavelu, who was hand picked by the Superstar himself, will be the cinematographer, and Anthony will find his place at the editing table. Soundarya Ashwin Rajinikanth will be the technical director of this prestigious project.

'Rana' will be jointly produced by Nextgen Films and Eros International and will be released in three languages, Tamil, Hindi and Telugu, most probably during 2012.
