The trailer of the much awaited Ranbir Kapoor-Priyanka Chopra starrer 'Barfi' is out and it has been generating impressive response….

Directed by Anurag Basu, the film also stars south actress Ileana D'Cruz.

For days, the film had been making news for its interesting storyline - Murphy (Ranbir) is a deaf and mute, happy-go-lucky boy and he is popularly called Barfi while Priyanka plays an autistic character, Jhilmil. In the trailer they together not only look adorable but their performance is heart whelming as well.

While it may look like the film is all about sensitive issue revolving around these two specially-challenged characters, the actors deny the fact.

Both Ranbir and Priyanka at a media interaction recently stated that ‘Barfi’ in fact is neither about disability nor is a serious story.

Clarifying that one may not feel that it is a disability film, Ranbir justified saying, "Its about enjoying life, giving happiness, feeling love. Its a love story."

Referring to Ileana’s role, Ranbir went on to say that her character reflects eternal romance. Similarly one can see love story between him and Priyanka and all these will be heartwarming; yet one "may not feel that the film is about disability film or mentally challenged kind of."

Echoing his views, co-star Priyanka said that it’s a general outlook to consider the people who are mentally-challenged or special have a dark, sorrowful life.

But with ‘Barfi’ it is not the case; for they present the life of such people in different light. "There are people who smile, laugh, fall in love, enjoy..its that side of their life. So it is not about disability," said PC.

She also added further - "I don't think after a point of time you will remember that these two characters have disabilities. The world created between these three characters is just something we haven't seen before."

Produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Ronnie Screwvala under the banner of UTV Motion Pictures, the romantic comedy set in seventies ‘Barfi’ is slated to release on 14th September 2012.
