Aishwarya Bachchan became the first Indian actress to unfurl the Tricolor at the ongoing Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM).

The former Miss World beauty and acclaimed actress hoisted the flag as her cute daughter Aradhya looked on with a sense of joy.

"It is such a moment of pride and happiness with so much love and warmth. Celebrating our 70th Independence Day will forever be such a beautiful memory for me and my dearest Aaradhya," she said in her speech.

Indian Film Festival of Melbourne is "Australia's biggest annual celebration of film from India and the subcontinent".
