Ravi Shastri applying for India coaching job

Former India all-rounder Ravi Shastri confirmed that he will apply to be the Indian men cricket team`s head coach.

The BCCI had invited fresh applications for the role after Anil Kumble made an exit. Five candidates were already shortlisted. The Cricket Advisory Committee comprising Sachin Tendular, V V S Laxman and Souraav Ganguly will select the coach.

When Shastri took over as team director in 2014, the India reached great heights and was No. 1 on the Test rankings till February 2016. Shastri also has the 2015 World Cup to his credit. He was not selected as coash when he had applied in 2016.
