The time is ripe for a dekko hit from Ravi Teja. This is perhaps after a long time since Don Seenu, which was directed by Sreenu Vytla, that we are seeing a big one coming from RT. (Yes, Dongala Mutha was directed by RGV, but he has stopped considering himself a hit-maker).

Gunasekhar hasn't had a hit since years. While some directors like VV Vinayak make ordinary flops, the talented director of Okkadu has made some ridiculous flops (read Sainikudu and Varudu) in the preceding years.

YVS Chowdary burnt his fingers badly by making a forgettable Salim, with Vishnu. The movie was released amidst the 'T' movement heat in December, 2009, and even Mohan Babu's political haters did not think it deserved their attention. They knew that Salim was going to sink without a trace at the BO.

Against this backdrop, Nippu is releasing with lot of hype. The hype doesn't owe a bit to anything else, except the confidence of the makers. The coming together of erstwhile Madras roommates for this film has the blessings of the audience. One wishes that Nippu raises like the way RT-Guna-YVS trio have raised in their lives from being ‘no-ones’ to notables in the industry.
