The Prime ministerial candidate of Bharathiya Janata Party and the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi who was in Chennai to campaign for his party candidates who are contesting in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, visited the Superstar Rajinikanth at his home before going to the campaign venue. Modi reached Chennai at Meenambakkam airport and travelled all along to the superstar’s poes garden residence and then went back to meenambakkam where his campaign venue was located

Given the expectation of thousands of fans on Rajini’s political entry and also reminding of the fact that he has endorsed a few political parties during elections in the past, it was widely speculated that Modi would seek the support of Rajini for his party in the election that is scheduled on April 24 in Tamilnadu

Modi visited Rajini’s residence at around 6:35 PM. While the vehicles of his party colleagues waited outside Modi’s car entered Rajini’s home. Before Modi coming out of the room after finishing his conversation with Rajini, a photograph of the two posing together was updated in Modi’s official twitter page and it was shared by thousands of twitter users within a few minutes.

Addressing the media after the meeting, Rajini laid all political speculations to rest by saying that there was no political intention behind Modi’s visit to his home. Stating that both are mutual well-wishers Rajini said he had asked Modi to visit his home when the latter visited him when he was taking treatment in a hospital in 2011. Modi just stated that Rajini is a good friend and that’s why he visited his home.

Earlier, sources close to BJP had said Narendra Modi visited Rajinikanth to greet him for Tamil New Year that falls on 14th April.
