The third death anniversary of famous actress Soundarya was observed on Tuesday. A popular star in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada filmdom, Soundarya died in a plane crash near Bangalore on 17 April, 2004 when she was on her way to Andhra Pradesh to campaign for BJP.
As the news of her death spread, pall of gloom descended on the South Indian film industry then.
The actress had played heroine to almost all prominent heroes including Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth and Chiranjeevi among others.
She has won several awards and evinced keen interest in social service activities.
Known for her acting prowess, she was one of the few actresses who relied on acting skills rather than skin show. Her death has left an irrevocable loss in filmdom.
