'Gaayam-2' fame Sri Prawin is directing and producing a movie titled 'Kalicharan' under Sri Karunalayam productions banner. Chaitanya Krishna and Chandini are the lead pair in this film. The film is based on a true incident that happened in 1980.

The songs of the movie were released recently and have got a good response.

Sri Prawin says, "All who have heard the songs are saying that they are in the style of Ilayaraja and we are very happy at it. Nandhan Raj has given very good tunes. He may become the Ilayaraja of Tollywood. Vanamali and Sadhanandha have given good lyrics. This is a complete commercial film. The movie has come good than what we have expected. I have shown the songs and Ramgopal Varma and he appreciated that they all have come according to the situation. Cinematography becomes the highlight of the movie. Chaitanya and Chandini have acted very good and we are confident of the hit of the movie".

Hero Chaitanya says, " I told the director to rope in a big hero for this movie, when he said the story to me. But he believed that I will be apt for this movie and taken me. I have grown my beard for 10 months for a rough look according to the situations in 1980's. Ilayaraja's music is being reminded when hearing the songs. We are confident that the audience will receive our movie well".

The music director of the film, Nandan Raj, thanked the audience for making the audio a big hit.

Actress Chandini said, " Bhagya Raja sir have introduced me as the heroine. This is my first movie in Telugu and I have done a role that has a scope for acting. I am confident of bagging a good name with this movie".

Pankaj Kesari, Kavitha Srinivasan, Nagineedu, Rao Ramesh etc are the other cast.
