She managed to keep Tamil film patrons smitten with her performance as Yamini in ‘Mayakkam Enna’ and Neduvaali in ‘Osthi’ but the actress hasn’t signed another Tamil flick after it despite several offers.

“I want to make sure that viewers will be happy with what they see in my next. I am in no rush to do any film that comes by way. After such a dream entry with Mayakkam Enna and Osthi, I want to do something that’s different from what I have already done. I have gone through about 8 scripts but none have quite clicked yet! I follow my gut instinct so when I ‘know’, I’ll be sure to announce it to everyone”, says the Bong beauty.

The actress who is still thrilled that she worked with two top notch actors, Dhanush and Simbu, in Tamil is currently working on ‘Bikram Singha’ – the Bengali version of ‘Siruthai’ which by itself is a remake of a Telugu flick.

“It’s a commercial film but the remake has been adapted to the Bengali audiences and I have a slightly extended character than the original. I’ve gotten to work opposite legendary actor, Prosenjit Chatterjee. We wrapped up the shoot in less than 3 months and the film will be ready to hit the screens next month” she says.

Quiz her if not knowing much Tamil is a problem, pat comes the response, “I am pretty good at learning languages so no doubt I’ll be learning Tamil in a jiffy, and hopefully dubbing for myself soon after!”
