Riteish Deshmukh’s father is now no more. His father the Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and Union minister for science and technology, Vilasrao Deshmukh passed away today, following liver failure and multiple organ failure in Chennai’s hospital.

Vilasrao Deshmukh, 67, was being treated in Chennai’s Global Health City hospital since last Monday (6th Aug); after getting shifted from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. His condition said to have been critical all the while, owing to which doctors dropped the plan of conducting liver transplant operation.

In the Chennai hospital, Vilasrao Deshmukh’s close family members including his wife, two sons Dheeraj and Riteish and daughter-in-law Genelia D’Souza had been by his side all these days.

According to sources, the last rites of Vilasrao Deshmukh will be held on Wednesday (15th Aug) in his native place Babhalgaon village in Latur district.
