As we have reported earlier veteran director P.Vasu will be directing a Tamil film after a long gap and this is the remake of his recent Kannada blockbuster 'Shivalinga'. Sivarajkumar had played the lead role of a police officer who investigates a murder in the original. Raghava Lawrence will be reprising the same role in Tamil.

Vedhika had played the female lead in Kannada while in Tamil it has just been confirmed that it will be Rithika Singh of 'Irudhi Suttru' fame.

Director Vasu has confirmed in his interview to a leading English daily that he has finalized Rithika for the role as he wanted a relatively fresh face for the character. She was selected only after a initial screen test. The 'Chandramukhi' director has also revealed that he has advised Rithika to improve her dancing skills so as to match the extraordinary dancing capabilities of Lawrence.

It is to be noted that Vasu's son, actor Sakthi aka Sakthivel Vasu will be acting in a pivotal role in this film. S.S.Thaman has been roped in for the musical score.

The film will go on floors from July 14 in Bangalore.

Rithika is also working on her second film 'Aandavan Kattalai' with Vijay Sethupathi which is being directed by Manikandan of 'Kaaka Muttai' fame.
