On the most difficult situation of the HIV positive children the young and vibrant Roopa Iyer dancer and philosopher extraordinaire, relentlessly shares and propagates the knowledge of Indian art and culture worldwide showed concern that draw the attention of innumerable on last Wednesday in Bangalore.

It was the audio release of ‘Mukhaputa’ (Cover Page in English) an international feature film (produced by Prof Narayana Hosmane and others) with more than dozen HIV affected children coming on stage at Chowdaiah Memorial Hall holding the audio CD of the film. ‘Who should take care of these children? What is their mistake in life? What we should do at this juncture? Roopa Iyer in a charged emotion made even the stony hearts go very soft on the evening from her carefully worded speech. She cried at the fate of such children and made the audience on the evening to collect a few drops of tears!

It is at this time the top Kannada artists Raghavendra Rajakumar, Jaggesh, Premkumar, Chi.Gurudutt, Naveen Krishna, Dharma, Indhudhar, music director Hamsalekha, Sharat Lohitashva, Anand Audio Mohan and Censor chief Chandrasekhar came up on stage and lifted the bad luck children to show affection.

Roopa Iyer made a humble request to the society to assist such ill fated children. Raghavendra Rajakumar announced Rs.1 lakh from Dr.Rajakumar Trust, Jaggesh the BJP politician too announced Rs.50,000, Vajreshwari Rajakumar agreed to deposit Rs.50,000 and cameraman Ramachandra Aithal on the spot announced Rs.25000 to the health care of such children.

The touching and soul stirring audio release of ‘Mukhaputa’ was also a treat of cultural programs. Mentally challenged Nivedhita danced to the song of her mother, young children danced for the song from ‘Bhagyadha Lakshmi Baramma’ film Enu Mayeyo…. Prison inmates also came up on stage to entertain. Of course there was fashion show sponsored by Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation.

The lighting the lamp for the memorable evening was made by Law and Parliamentary cum Urban Development Minister Mr S.Sureshkumar. The chief minister and his other cabinet colleagues did not turn up. The guest honor Puneeth Rajakumar was also not present on the evening.

Four prominent personalities Dr.Satish of Wockhardt, former President HIV Association of Hidna, Dr.Narayan Dutt ENT specialist of Apollo Hospital, national award winning music director Hamsalekha and ace cameraman Ramachandran Aithal were honored with ‘Dhruv’ award for relentless and yeomen service.
