Expectations:

Making a film is a tough task and to get a proper release is even tougher. The bigger films fight hard to get the best release day, while the smaller one struggle to get out of the cans and any how reach to the silver screen.

In between there are some prominent films which are rotting in the cans due to some object able reasons. Anuraag Kashyap's 'Paanch' or Sharman Joshi's 'Urff Professor' and few such films might never see getting their theatrical release.

There are many award winning films of Irffan, Nawazuddin and a few more which are still waiting to get a right release date, so that their films can work on the word of mouth. Amit Sadh-Taapsee Pannu starrer film 'RunningShaadi.com' is one such film which was trying to get a right release and finally, after few controversies and self-censoring the movie manages to hit the cinema hall.

So, let's find out whether 'RunningShaadi.com', even after its delay will be totally worth or might be among those films which should never get a theatrical release and rot only in the cans.

Story:

'RunningShaad.comi' is a story of Ram Bharose (Amit Sadh), who works as a salesman in a saree shop. He falls in love with his boss’s daughter Nimmi (Taapsee Pannu). After a while, his relationship with Nimmi starts to fade out and in that frustration Ram also leaves his job. One day Ram gets an idea of creating a website where he along with his best friend Cyber (Arsh Bajwa) will help the lovers elope away and get married to each other. Ram and Cyber form a website and starts giving service to their clients. Nimmi also seeks Ram and Cyber's help so that she can elope with someone she loves Ram agrees to help Nimmi but things does not happen as they had planned and what happens is what the entire film is all about.

Screenplay & Technical Details:

The story is interesting and has some resembles with films like 'Band Baaja Baarat', 'Jab We Met' and few more. Despite of these mild similarities the movie has a fresh take on the romantic comedy type of films.

The movie starts like a rocket, but slows down after a while, It drags heavily in the middle portion and manages to give us only a handful of comical or romantic moments. The initial romance track between Amit and Taapsee is enjoyable, followed by Amit's frustration in front of his boss, the entire procedure related to the website and few more scenes keeps you engaged as well as entertained in the film.

After the long, dull moment in the middle part of the film, the movie finally gets on its right track in the last part of the film. The movie gets its right momentum when Amit, Taapsee and Arsh reach Bihar.

Right from that scene to the finale part the movie goes back on the rocket speed and delivers some comically entertaining scenes. These scenes make you wish that if only the whole movie would had been similarly entertaining the impact would had been on the classic level. The central part are dull and lacks the fun factor.

The cinematography is decent and one can see the hard work and efforts to remove the object able word (.com) in the film.

Music:

'Pyar Ka Test' and 'Bhaag Milky Bhaag' are funny. A couple of songs are sweet, but nothing memorable.

Direction:

Director Amit Roy comes up with an interesting story but fails to add the required moments to it at various places. The places where he gets everything right are the ones which are worth watching.

The fun quotient should have been bit high as the movie had full potential. The last part of the film, which is set in Bihar is highly enjoyable and leaves you with a smile on your face. If only the entire film would have been set in a similar manner, the impact would had been much stronger.

Performances:

Amit Sadh is good in his part and slides easily into the skin of his character. Taapsee Pannu looks cute and does her part with grace. The pair works fine in the comical scenes, but does not create any ripples in the romantic ones. Arsh Bajwa is highly cute and would had loved to see more of him in the film. Brijendra Kale and all others lend good support.

Final Verdict:

On an overall basis,'RunningShaadi.com' is like a jog trot, which works in its sweet and mild manner. The movie has its share of entertaining and engaging scenes, but falls short of these scenes in order to maintain the proper decorum of the film.
