The other day, the Teaser of 'Saaho' got released amid an unprecedented 'Baahubali-2' wave. While more than two million have viewed the Telugu version alone on YouTube, much more than this figure have been bowled over by the Teaser on the big screen in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam.

Be that as it may, can it be called a proper pre-production Teaser? It was released amid fanfare. The audience had celebrated it as one-of-its-kind in the history of Telugu cinema.

In the end, while we got to see a terrific Prabhas, it was not exactly a film's Teaser in the strictest sense. It's more a hero's Teaser with nothing else going for it. Not that this is unacceptable, but for those of you who have a strict definition of what a Teaser is supposed to be, calling it a teaser is underwhelming.

In this context, it would be proper to compare it with another pre-production teaser brought out recently. It is Jagapathi Babu's 'Patel S.I.R'. For the uninitiated, it revealed the hero's look and didn't restrict itself to just the hero's character. It gave a greater glimpse into the characters rather than just have the hero say a promotional 'It's showtime'. And the teaser did clock a high two million views.
