Sachin's biopic set to be pipped by MS Dhoni's

The Day 1 collections of 'Sachin: A Billion Dreams' is estimated to be Rs. 8.4 Cr. In contrast, that of 'MS Dhoni: An Untold Story' had earned Rs. 21.30 Cr last year.

Two reasons why Sachin's biopic is not as big as Dhoni's in terms of collections is that it's a docu-drama. An analyst has it that a docu drama collecting this figure is "impressive". One has to concede the fact that Indians are not used to watching slice-of-life docu dramas.

Secondly, while 'MS Dhoni' got released in 5000 screens, 'Sachin' had to do with 2800 screens.

While Dhoni's biopic went on to join the Rs. 200 Cr mark, the latest film may have to do with Rs. 100 Cr club.
