Nilgiris-born Sai Pallavi found instant stardom after her avatar as the Tamil-speaking Malar teacher in Premam` (Malayalam). Ever since, she has starred in a couple of projects in Malayalam, besides signing up Sekhar Kammula's 'Fidha' in Telugu.
While many producers have approached her for her Tamil debut, including for a Mani Ratnam film and an Ajith-starrer, she couldn't/didn't do them for one reason or another.
Recently, Sai Pallavi signed two Tamil films, one opposite Madhavan and the other opposite Vikram. Reportedly, the dancer-turned-actress is out of the Vikram film due to her failure to allot dates even after the team gave her leverage twice and postponed the shoot.
The director is said to be in talks with both Kajal Agarwal and Tamannaah for the role. Since Kajal is expanding her horizons in Kollywood, the film could well be to her advantage.
