It is not a new concept in Bollywood to rehearse every line of the lead actors, well before actually going on the floors. Director Kannan has brought the tradition home to save time and improve efficiency in his upcoming project 'Sakkarai', which is to start rolling from January 20th. The film stars Vemal and Priya Anand in the lead, and the director says that the two lead actors will go in for dress rehearsal, with all the technicians on board. For this purpose, the team has booked a hall in Chennai, where Vemal and Priya will speak their lines, while Kannan's assistants will pitch in for the lines of the supporting actors.

Kannan says that this exercise will save considerable amount of time and also avoid confusion when they go for the actual shooting. As part of the rehearsal, the team will also be working at a train set erected in the city. Following the rehearsal, the team will shoot in real trains for about 35 days, in Tuticorin and Theni. Imman has been roped in for the music for 'Sakkarai', and the composer is reported to start work on this once 'Jilla' hits the screens.
