Actor Salimkumar, who had won the best of the awards last year, is all set to approach courts. His petition will be largely against the decision to give the best director award to Blessy for his 'Pranayam'. Salimkumar alleges that the movie is a shot by shot copy of an Australian film. And if that is the case, how can Blessy are selected as the best director? Salimkumar who is planning to approach the high court states that this award is largely against the law, which asks for original works.

Salimkumar is also against the Chalachithra Academy which didn't present his documentary titled 'Pokaali' before the awards committee. With more and more film workers coming against various awards announced this year, it seems that the State awards will be a matter of debate for long.
