The ‘Dabangg’ superstar turned out to be far more fearless than needed. At the music launch of ‘Raunaq’ yesterday, Salman Khan shocked one and all present on the occasion by making some unexpected and unbelievable statements which didn’t go down well with many. The audio album was a collaboration of AR Rahman and Union Minister Kapil Sabil.

Not only he turned up very late for the occasion, Salman also tried to throw some humour around in his typical tongue-in-cheek attitude. However it fell flat, when the actor made untoward remarks at Rahman. While he highly praised Sibal by calling him a great lyricist, Salman made everyone gasp in surprise by terming Rahman as an average artist. Instantly the expression on the Oscar winning composer’s face changed and he maintained a stone face for the rest of the event.

Realising his mistake, Salman tried to make light of things. He jovially went over to Rahman and said media that one thing which is common between them is ‘Jai Ho’. The actor even extended his hand to the music maestro and asked when he will work for him. But the damage was done and the wounds were visible - for, Rahman made it evident from his body language and smile-less face that he is annoyed with Salman’s remarks. Although they stood together posing for shutterbugs, it was evident that Rahman was in no mood to forgive but tried his best to look pleasant in front of camera.

Sources present on the occasion observed that Salman has got into bad books of Rahman and feel that he had gone too far this time. However others feel that its usual nature of Salman to take a dig at others.

Earlier Salman Khan’s film ‘Jai Ho’ had faced legal delay since the title’s copyrights were with Rahman, who had stopped the film’s release. But later the case was solved with the latter giving a NOC.
