Buzz is already out that Salman Khan's latest release 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' has minted 40.35 crore at the box office on day one - thus enjoying a historic opening ever for a Hindi film.

With a whooping 40.35 crores, PRDP has broken records set by other Diwali releases like Shah Rukh Khan's 'Chennai Express' (30.48 crores) and 'Happy New Year' (36.31 crores). The film hit new opening day records in Mumbai, Delhi / UP, East Punjab, Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI, Bihar and Assam.

Good advance bookings with around 10% tickets sold and the four day weekend has proved favourable for the film with all its shows going housefull for the weekend.

The strong word of mouth surrounding the film and Salman Khan's star power is only expected to contribute to the growth of the film.
