Actress Samantha has entered the race for becoming the lead in Dhanush's next project Sotta Vazhakutty. The film will be made by Sarkunam, who won critical acclaim for his film Vaagai Sooda Vaa.

After initially considering Amala Paul and Hansika Motwani for the role, Samantha is now being considered by the producers and the director to see if she would fit the bill for the project. The shooting for Sotta Vazhakutty will begin after Dhanush finishes his work with Bharath Bala's Mariyaan. The actor also has to work on the post-production of Raanjhnaa, his debut flick in Bollywood. Both films have music by A.R.Rahman and are anticipated hotly.

With little luck and having Dhanush and Samantha on board, Sarkunam's next film might get the right platform even before the director begins his work.
