Samudaya film fest!

Samudaya Bangalore the three decades plus old organization catering to various social causes has evolved ‘Chitra Samudaya from this year and conducting week long Kannada film festival at Kailash theatre situated in the Tribhuvan theatre complex in Bangalore. Chitra Samudaya Kannada film festival will be inaugurated by national award winning music director Hamsalekha in the presence of chief guest poet Dr H.S.Venkatesha Murthy. From 30th October to November 5th four Kannada films will be screened in 28 shows.

Samudaya has picked the socially relevant films ‘Daatu’ of director Shivarudraiah, Gubbachchigalu of Abhay Simha, Artha of director B Suresh and director Umashanker Swamy’s ‘Banada Neralu’. On four shows a day all the four films will be screened at the regular admission rates.

The producers of four off beat films Dr M Byre Gowda, Roopa Iyer, Sachin Kanabur, Spoorthinath, Venkatesh Prasad, Nakul and Ravindranath Sirivara of ‘Daatu’, B Suresh producer of Gubbacichigalu and Artha and Umashankerswamy producer of ‘Banada Neralu’ are looking after the theatre rent and relevant publicity cost and conducting the festival in the aegis of Samudaya.

‘Samudaya’ is conducting seminars in the coming days on the ‘Hunger and Water’ says spokesperson SG Siddaramaiah. The directors of all the four films were present at the media briefing on Sunday evening.
