Young hero and comedian Santhanam celebrates his 36th Birthday today.

Santhanam is undeniably the top comedian of the current decade who has found his place in the prestigious league of veteran comedians of Tamil cinema history.

After getting noticed with his splendid performance in the Television spoof show, Santhanam was introduced by Silambarsan, as a comedian in his film 'Manmathan'. From then on there is no stopping of Santhanam and today he has acted with all the top stars of Kollywood including Superstar Rajinikanth and except Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan.

He has been the regular cast member of directors Rajesh and Sundar.C.who have a unique knack of making comedy entertainers and the combination has worked out hilariously in many films. Santhanam has also been an effective comedy partner for many of the young generation stars like Silambarasan. Dhanush, Arya, Jiiva, Karthi and Udhayanidhi Stalin. He has provided comic relief with these actors in many films during the prime time of their career.

Santhanam has avoided coming in separate comedy tracks and has acted as character as a part of the main story of the film. But his individual comedy tracks have been added in the Tamil dubbed versions of Telugu films to increase their reach among Tamil audience.

Santhanam has now become a hero. He launched his production company and also launched himself as one of the heroes in the super hit comedy film 'Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaya'. Later he acted as the solo hero in 'Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham' and 'Inime Ippadithan'. Presently he is acting as the lead actor in the films 'Dhillukku Dhuddu' and 'Server Sundaram'.

Unlike others who would stop acting as comedians after becoming a hero, Santhanam stills accepts comedian roles in which he will have to play second fiddle to another hero.
