Actor Santhanam's 'Dhillukku Dhuddu' is his third film as a lead hero and this film has also turned out to be the biggest in his career in terms of box office collections,

Santhanam made his acting debut with the Silambarasan starrer 'Manmadhan' in 2004. Since then he has been acting as a comedian and achieved the top spot. His inclusion became a necessary element in commercial films. His role was so important in many films, to the extent of being considered as a second hero. He became friends with many young heroes by continuously acting in their films and also teamed up with stars like Rajinikanth. Vijay and Ajith.

He had acted as one of the leads in Chimbudevan's 'Arai En 305il Kadavul' in 2008 but the film was not a hit. After a gap of five years. Santhanam again tried out as a hero in 'Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham' the Tamil remake of the Telugu super hit 'Maryadha Ramanna'. That film also was not as successful expected.

Then he acted in the lead role in 'Inimey Ippadithan' which released in 2015. This tfilm proved to be a commercial success, probably as the luck god's recognition for the actor's continuous efforts to achieve big as a lead hero. It is at this point Santhanam decided to completely divert his focus towards lead hero characters.

He teamed up with director Ram Bala with whom he had created history in Tamil small screen, with the spoof show 'Lollu Sabha'. The film titled as 'Dhillukku Dhuddu' is a horror-comedy, a genre which has been overdosed to Tamil film buffs in recent years.

However 'DD' proved to be an exception mainly due to its comedy content working out phenomenally well. Rambala's writing. Santhanam's sense of humour and timing and also the support of actors Naan Kadavul Rajendran. Karunas and Anand Raj has ensured that the film is a laughathon for audience.

With this the film has got an unexpectedly high collections at the box office. On the first day of its release the film had collected about Rs.4 crores in Tamil Nadu.

Now at the end of the first weekend the BO collections have exceeded Rs.10 crores that is typical for a star actor film. In the four day weekend between July 7 to July 10, 'Dhillukku Dhuddu' has collected Rs.13.5 crores in Tamil Nadu, with Chennai, Chengalpet and Coimbatore areas contributing 1.37, 3.5 and 2.7 crores of rupees respectively.

This is definitely the result of Santhanam's perseverance, hard work and clever steps towards his goal. He has also improved a lot in dancing and stunts, the two utmost important traits for a commercial hero. He is presently acting in the film 'Server Sundaram' and we hope this film will also achieve great success and take him to bigger heights as a commercial hero.

IndiaGlitz wishes Santhanam and 'Dhillukku Dhuttu' team for this phenomenal success.
