Renowned comedian Santhanam is well known for his punchy one liners. But during a recent shoot he had to be a victim of a literal 'punch' on face.

Santhanam was busy shooting for Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham directed by his good friend Srinath. The shoot is currently progressing in Kumbakonam. In a particular scene Santhanam was required to carry water cans to houses in a cycle. The art department had placed filled cans instead of empty cans Santhanam drove the cycle in high speed in order to complete the scene before the public thronging the field. Unfortunately unable to bear the weight, the front tyre of the cycle lifted up and hit Santhanam’s face. He had shout for the help of spot boys who immediately turned up to hold the cycle and saved Santhanam from falling on the floor.

Santhanam is acting as the lead hero in VIP, which is the remake of super hit Telugu film Maryada Ramanna directed by S.S.Rajamouli.
