Santhanam in 'Mariyadha Ramanna' remake?

'Mariyadha Ramanna' was one of the trend-setting movies in Tollywood and the film directed by S S Rajamouli catapulted comedian Sunil to stardom.

Now attempts are on to remake the film in Tamil. Director Kannan of 'Jayamkondan' and 'Vandhan Vendraan' fame will wield the megaphone and Santhanam is expected to do the lead role.

It is to be noted that it was Kannan who earlier remade 'Jab We Met' as 'Kanden Kadhalai' and he is currently busy remaking 'Delhi Belly', another Bollywood hit, in Tamil as 'Settai'.

"PVP Cinema has acquired the remake rights of Mariyadha Ramanna and the shoot of the Tamil version is expected to get a kick start by January next year," add sources.
