Kamal Haasan is not going to be part of a Tamil remake of Malayalam hit 'Traffic'. Instead, Sarath Kumar will play the lead role, which impressed the Ulaganayagan very much. "Kamal could not do the role because of problems in dates, as he is busy with Viswaroopam," say sources.

Kamal, who watched the Malayalam movie some time back, expressed his interest to remake it in Tamil and to play the lead role. So everyone was with the idea that the he would kick-start the project after completing his directorial venture 'Viswaroopam', but things seem to be working otherwise.

Says a source, "Director Rajesh Pillai has signed up Sarath Kumar for the movie. It will hit the floors soon, as the director is at present busy with its Hindi remake, starring Sunny Deol and Prakash Raj in pivotal roles. Prakash Raj may be part of the Tamil version too."

It is said that Sarath is happy to act in the Tamil remake of 'Traffic'. Of late, the Nadigar Sangam president has been concentrating on doing different roles and his character in 'Kanchana' is a pointer to it. He hopes that his role in 'Traffic' remake would be one more in the list.
