Sarathkumar & Karunas: Divided by Nadigar Sangam United by Politics

Actors Sarathkumar and Karunas were at the two opposite sides of the battle for the Nadigar Sangam administration last year and the tiff between the previous and present administration of the Sangam is still going on, months after the election.

But the two actors have offered support to the Anaithindhiya Anna Dravida Munnuetra Kazhagam party lead by the incumbent Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J.Jayalalitha and what more they will also be contesting on behalf of the party in the upcoming Assembly elections to be held on May 16.

Today the ADMK has released the full list of candidates for all the 234 constituencies of Tamil Nadu. The party has allocated MLA tickets to actors Sarathkumar and Karunas in the list.

Sarathkumar, the sitting MLA of Tenkasi Constituency will contest from Tiruchendur constituency in the 2016 assembly elections on behalf of the alliance lead by AIADMK. The former President of the Nadigar Sangam, had launched the Samuthuava Makkal Katchi in 2007 and his party has been an ally of the AIADMK since the 2011 assembly elections.

Karunas, the current Vice President the Sangam, created headlines by meeting the CM on Sunday to offer his support to the ADMK and announced that he will campaign for the party's success in the elections. Today he has been announced as the ruling party's MLA candidate for the Thirvadanai constituency.

Chief Minister Jayalalitha will be contesting from the RK Nagar constituency in Chennai. She is the sitting MLA for this constituency .
