The incumbent President of South Indian Artists Association (Nadigar Sangam) met the press and media on Wednesday and released proofs and evidences to refute the allegations leveled against him by the Pandavar Ani spearheaded by actors Vishal and Nasser.

As the bone of contention was the agreement which leaves the 19 cent land in possession of Nadigar Sangam to SPI Cinemas to build a mall including a multiplex theater. The Pandavar Ani have been alleging that this was the decision taken by Sarathkumar and the General Secretary Radharavi subverting the Sangam's bylaws. Some members and supporters of Pandavar Ani also alleged that the duo have received kickbacks for signing the agreement with SPI Cinemas which has been strongly objected by Sarathkumar, Radharavi and their supporters.

Sarathkumar in his latest press briefing reiterated that the agreement with SPI Cinemas was cleared only after it was ratified by the Executive Council of the Nadigar Sangam and after informing the same in the General Body Meeting as per the Sangam's bylaws.

Sarathkumar also clarified that the land is not being sold to anyone as it is being alleged by Pandavar Ani and the agreement is to lease the land for a period of 29 years and the Sangam would have generated an income of Rs.130 crores at the end of the lease period without shelling out money for the maintenance of the building. He also showed the original document of the land to support his claim that the land would forever remain in Sangam's possession.

He also rubbished Pandavar Ani's General Secretary candidate Vishal's allegation that the Sangam has failed to file Income Tax Returns for the past five years. He wondered how Vishal was ignorant of the fact that a Non-profit organisation like Nadigar Sangam need not file IT Returns as long as it does not earn profits.
