The pop sensation and the former goodwill ambassador for UNICEF, Selena Gomez has recently opened up about spirituality and religion. In her recent appearance on the Zach Sang Show, the host asks her about what`s her views on religion\spirituality and how big of a role do those play in her life.

To which she calmly responds “It's hard because I don't know if it's necessary that I believe in religion as much as I believe in faith and a relationship with, you know, God, to me." She expresses, however, not referring to one particular god but to a “greater being”.

She continues “I may not believe in religion as much as others but I do respect their opinion and beliefs. I definitely don`t want to shove my opinions down other people`s throats and I expect the same”

“I've just experienced things in my life where there are holes in things that nothing else can fill, and I know that if I didn't have the faith that I had, it wouldn't have gotten me through some of the hardest times in my life. And I stand by that. I think there's just a lot that I wouldn't have been able to do. That word [religion] freaks me out, you know?" She emphasizes.

She has always been vocal about her relationship with God and her routine with spirituality but this is the very first time that she has boldly opened up about her views on God and religion.
