The box office heroes Shivarajakumar, Puneeth Rajkumar, Sudeep, Darshan and Upendra are busy despite the onslaught of newcomers as of now. They are busy in their work and looking for something riveting in their forthcoming films. Predecessors to these top five mid generation heroes the veterans Dr.Vishnu, V.Ravichandran, and Jaggesh are looking for something to be on top of tower. Ramesh Aravind although fall in to the mid generation heroes he is not placed as box office hero. His yardsticks in direction and acting like Sudeep are something unusual but he never loses the race in his assignments.

With nearly 100 new films going on the floor in Kannada in first seven months of this year and 30 plus expected to go on floor in the coming two months it is film flood in Kannada with Monsoon also bright in Karnataka. The situation of today has not been noticed in the 73 years history of Kannada cinema.

Take a look at the top notch in Kannada filmdom what they are doing:

Dr. Vishnuvardhana - With one highly talked about film 'Mathad Mathadu Mallige' also starring Suhasini and Sudeep in the lead roles directed by ace film maker Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar ready for release Dr.Vishnuvardhana has one film 'Yee Bandhana' on floor. He has become extremely choosy in selection of his roles.

V.Ravichandran - The dream merchant of Kannada cinema V.Ravichandran at the 25th year of his career with average hit 'Ugadi' is busy working day and night in severe cold and fog at Sakleshpur surroundings in this monsoon for 'Manjina Hani' for producer Sandesh Nagaraj. He is sure of breaking all rules from this film like how he brought in new era to film making after 'Ekangi'. Yet another expensive venture starring V.Ravichandran and Jaggesh 'Tata Birla' is in the half way of production.

Ramesh Aravind – He is a highly relieved man because of his 'Sathyavan Savitri' ringing the cash registers. His maiden directorial venture 'Rama Shama Bhama' also gave him bumper results in the box office earlier. He has another film 'Accident' for direction to the banner of Madhu Bangarappa while another corporate sector is evincing interest in Ramesh Aravind film on a contract basis. Meanwhile Ramesh Aravind is taking up a detective television serial for 'Kasturi' Kannada channel with versatile Ananthnag in lead for 'Detective Drona'.

Shivarajkumar - The 'Ajathashatru' of Kannada cinema superstar Shivarajkumar has completed his work for 'Gandana Mane' a family film for producer R.S.Gowda that has Gowri Munjal in the lead. S.Mahender has completed his task and this is going to hit the silver screen on 24th of this month. In the queue for releases is 'Lava Kusha' with co star Upendra for producer K.Prabhakar. Charmi and Jennifer are also in the cast that is making preparation for release in October this year. In November end Shivarajkumar and Genelia starring 'Sathya in Love' for new director Raghave Loki and debutant producer Ramesh is slated for release. Shivarajkumar in continuation with this has 'Bandhu Balaga' for producer Soorappa Babu. The director and story for this film has been altered. Instead of Om Sai Prakash direction and B.A.Madhu story in 'Bandhu Balaga' producer Soorappa Babu is roping in Janardhana Maharshi script and his favorite director Naganna with whom he made two films 'Soorappa and Kotigobba' both winning at the box office. In association with director of repute Naganna producer Soorappa Babu took the distribution of Dr.Vishnuvardhana's 'Vishnu Sene' a remake film directed by Naganna. Even that has also given good results for Soorappa Babu and Naganna combination. After 'Bandhu Balaga' Shivarajkumar has 'Madesha' an action film for director Ravi Srivatsa.

Puneeth Rajkumar - The unconquerable in the box office is ready with 'Milana' opposite Parvathi for director Prakash. He has 'Bindhaas' on the floor with Hansika for director D.Rajendra Babu and then comes a few films for the family banner for Puneeth Rajkumar. He is undoubtedly the highest paid Kannada actor today in Sandalwood. All the seven earlier films of Puneeth Rajkumar – Appu, Abhi, Mourya, Veera Kannadiga, Namma Basava, Akash, Arasu have completed 100 days screening is a record he holds.

Sudeep - Making foray in to direction from 'My Autograph' is little depressed with the results of his second directorial venture ' No.73 Shanthinivasa' this year. However he is busy working in 'Ghooli' with Mamatha Mohan Das for producer Ramu that is directed by P.Sathyaa. After this Sudeep is taking up 'Kamanna Makkalu' in which Rockline Venkatesh, Doddanna are co stars in a rib tickler comedy directed by Gurudutt who burnt his fingers from 'Datta' last year. Sudeep has two more commitments for Jhankar Company (well known audio business house) and signed a film for producer Ramesh Yadav. Sudeep with senior colleague Dr.Vishnuvardhana and Suhasini in 'Mathad Mathadu Mallige' is all set for release soon. This is a film hyped very much because of the most successful director Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar heading the megaphone for producer Gandugali K.Manju.

Darshan - With hiccups in the beginning and recouping with 'Snehana Preethina' results in the box office has 'Anatharu' with Upendra, Radhika and Ramba ready for release in September. He is equally busy with 'Gaja' opposite Navya Nayar that has completed major portion of the shoot. He has 'Indhra' for producer R.B.Chaudhary and Kuppuswamy currently on floor. For the producers of 'Ekadanta', popular distributor and financier Jayanna and top producer Rockline Venkatesh the dates of Darshan have been marked.

Upendra - Utopian Upendra is looking for some big results in 'Anatharu' that is set for his birthday release on September 18. He is working for a Telugu cum Tamil film with actor Vishaal for producer G.K.Reddy in Hyderabad. Back home he has 'Lav Kusha' with superstar Shivarajkumar for the direction of Om Sai Prakash and 'Bhimoos Bang Bang Bang Kids' for the direction of S.V.Rajendra Singh Babu. He plays double role in 'Bhimoos…..and has Ramya and Parvathi Milton as his counterparts. He has on hand a Tamil remake film 'Naan Avanillai' in Kannada and a straight film for Pyramid group.

Jaggesh - The famous comedy hero of Kannada cinema who is known as 'Minimum Guarantee' hero Jaggesh's 'Manmatha' is hitting the screen this week. In the pipeline he has 'Ganesha', 'Kodagana Koli Nungaithe', 'Tata Birla', 'Eddulu Manjunatha' are in the queue for this popular comedy hero.
