The three Khans - Salman, Aamir and Shah Rukh - have been ruling the roost for two decades - are still the high ranking guys at the box office, as they appeal to multiplex as well as single screen audience.

2013 witnessed a great change among our young and happening heroes... We saw the young guns of Bollywood - Shahid Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan were trying their hand at the desi films this year.

While the latter two did not manage to cut through this genre, Shahid’s ‘R... Rajkumar’ has been appreciated and loved by audiences. ‘R... Rajkumar’ did very well at the box office, especially with the single screen audience. Shahid’s never done such an out and out masala film with intense action scenes. So for the audiences it was a refreshing change to see him in this avatar. While in the songs Shahid looks charming, he has also won accolades for the high energy stunts.

Ranbir through ‘Besharam’ shed his cool, urban romantic image to don the small-town lover boy avatar. The Kapoor baccha managed to grab attention with his rustic slang and loafer type of body language, but sadly he kind of went overboard and failed to make an impression at the box office.

Imran Khan completely changed his simple chocolate boy avatar for ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’. Turning into a villager the actor grew beard and even learnt Haryanvi for his character. Also with ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara’, Imran made an impression by playing a Muslim character for the first time.
