Shanthini Theva, though brought up in Malaysia, has been dreaming to make a mark in Kollywood, Inspired by Tamil cinema, she came all the way to K-town to try luck. Thanks to 'Naadodigal', she managed to realise her dream.

Post 'Naadodigal', she is now making waves in the industry busy doing a host of commercials and a movie titled 'Madhil Mel Poonai'. The actress, who has now made Chennai her home, prefers to do challenging roles and wants to see herself the dream girl of Tamil cinema in the coming years.

Shanthini, who doesn’t mind to glamour within limits, says, “the likes of Radhika, Kushboo and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan always impressed me for they have a say in the script in the hero-driven industry”.

On her experiences shooting for 'Naadodigal', she says, 'I just did what the character demanded. It was a learning curve for me. My role won laurels from everyone. At home, both my parents and siblings were happy but at the same time, upset that that few of my scenes were chopped”.

Throwing light on 'Madhil Mel Poonai, she says, "It is directed by Selva Raghavan's assistant Bharani and the lead role is played by Vijay Vasanth. I play a cute character and it has a say in the script".
