What is it?

Balaji Motion Pictures' `Shootout At Wadala' directed by Sanjay Gupta stars Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Kangana Ranaut, Manoj Bajpai, Tusshar, Sonu Sood, Mahesh Manjrekar, Ronit Roy, Siddhant Kapoor and a host of others. The film is the explosive true story of the war between Dilawar, Manya Surve and Inspector Afaaque Baagraan and the first encounter killing in Bombay. The film is said to be inspired from S. Hussain Zaidi's best-seller `Dongri To Dubai'.

Jackie Shroff will be seen in a cameo with Anil Kapoor and plays an ex-Police Commissioner who was reportedly instrumental in the encounter of Manya Surve (played by John Abraham).

Kangana plays the role of Vidya who is Manya Surve's love interest.  While there is no mention of Vidya in S. Hussain Zaidi's best-seller `Dongri To Dubai' (from which a part of the film has been inspired), director Sanjay Gupta learnt of her existence through his interaction with the Police while researching the film.

Revealed Sanjay, "The Police know about Vidya. So do the residents of Mumbai's Dadar and Agar Bazaar areas where she is folklore. Many believe that she betrayed Manya, which led to his encounter. No one knows what happened to her after Manya's death."

Sunny Leone features in item song "Laila Teri Le Legi", Sophie in "Aala Re Aala" and Priyanka Chopra is in special track "Babli Badmash".

The Story Outline

In 1992, Bombay witnessed an infamous encounter in Lokhandwala. The news was telecast by the BBC and covered extensively by the media across the country and internationally. Till date more than 820 encounters have been recorded in the files of Mumbai police, but where did it all begin?

Who started it? When, where and how did it happen?

`Shootout At Wadala' is the answer to all these questions - the unbelievable true story of the first ever encounter in Bombay. An epic story, with overwhelming machismo.

It outlines the rampant gang wars in Bombay and culminates in an explosive 3-way face-off between the dreaded gangster Dilawar, the notorious and charismatic gangster Manya Surve and Inspector Afaaque Baagraan.
