The most beautiful and brainy heroine of South India Shriya Saran latest bilingual movie in Kannada and Tamil ‘Chandra’ is all set for release on 27th of June. The pretty lady in royal color costume on this ‘Royal Love Story’ – ‘Chandra’ says moon is the limit in life for ambitions as of now.

Speaking to a few important media persons at Le Meredian in Bangalore the gorgeous looking Shriya Saran answering a question on the unfulfilled desire she answered ‘Hazare Kwaishe…remembering a Hindi film song and immediately connecting to her film ‘Chandra’ (Moon) stated ‘Moon is the Limit’.

Shriya Saran spoke at length on various topics and here are the excerpts:

Keeping all your films on one side and compare ‘Chandra’….

Comparison should not be done from one film director to another. It is not fair. Each one has exquisite ideas.

How do you explain ‘Chandra’?

It is a realistic, truthful, lovely, traditional, modern, emotion filled…everyone would fall in love watching this movie. It is such a lovely movie. The script is so beautiful first. It is because of script of ‘Chandra’ everything looks beautiful on silvers screen.

You had something to learn new from ‘Chandra’?

Of course my student days ‘Kalari’ art I could learn in this film. The film is huge in its canvas. It is beautiful and elegant art form. In ‘Chandra’ it is shot in a temple backdrop. Working in two language films was another task I managed.

Working with a woman director Roopa Iyer, you got ambition of taking up direction….

Whether we work with male or female director there are many things to know depending on their level. In this male dominated society and world cinema included the task is tough for a woman director. In all areas a woman is tested. If she is beautiful then some more additional problem crops us. I have worked with Deepa Mehta (Midnigh Children) earlier and now with Roopa Iyer in ‘Chandra’. Both have crossed the barriers in their tasks. We definitely get to know psychology of women more in men and vice versa. I believe Roopa is immensely talented. She is gifted. As a director she was looking in all the areas for perfection. She had good knowledge of what should come and attract the eyes of the audience in the theatres.

How was the shooting experience?

We have shot in some locations that are difficult to get permission. I remember the Mysore Palace shoot. I am a voracious reader and in Royal Library I picked a book. Suddenly someone came and said it is not permitted. I kept the book back.

Apart from acting what are your area of interest?

I enjoy doing painting, traveling, read, meditation, Yoga and six (three full-three partial) blind I am attached through an NGO Sri Spandana. I notice no separate facility for the visually handicap people. In hotels, travels etc…they are neglected. This should be corrected. I have not gone in for eye transplant for such people. In future I might take up. Eventually I want to get facility for visually handicap in major cities.

Forthcoming films….

I am working in ‘Valmiki Bandu’ Hindi film. It is set in Jodhpur villages. In Telugu I am in Nagarjuna film.

What is so special about Bangalore….

People are vibrant and friendly. They speak more than four languages. To converse it is easy. Four language films also run in Bangalore and other parts of Karnataka. My cousins are living here. I love ‘Corner House’ in Bangalore.

Cameraman of ‘Chandra’ PKH Doss has been very convenient….

He is always ready…ready….ready man. He was telling so fast on the sets. He is very fast in his work. He was ill but not told anyone and after picking up health told all of us. He is a man with good heart. He is cool and composed.
