A decade back, director AR Murugadoss made a lasting impression on the Kollywood minds with 'Ramana'. It is no new news that 'Ramana' is now being remade as 'Gabbar' in Hindi, helmed by Krish of 'Vaanam' fame. The film stars Akshay Kumar in the role that Captain Vijaykanth essayed here. It has been in the media buzz for a while that Amala Paul may be signed in to do the role that Simran did in 'Ramana', in the remake. The 'Gabbar' team was in the lookout for a South Indian face for this particular role. But now it has come out in the open that Amala Paul will not a part of this project.
Instead, considering the B-town market and her looks, Shruthi Hassan has been signed in for this role. As we hear it, the sources say that Shruthi has managed to stay tight lipped about the offer, leaving it to the crew to decide when to divulge information on this regard.
