Despite films opposite the likes of Suriya and Siddharth, Shruti Haasan was finally in the recknoing only after Gabbar Singh. High on the success of that film, she went on to score hits like Balupu, Yevadu, and Race Gurram, despite her journey being punctuated with flops like Ramayya Vasthavayya. Srimanthudu has truly stabilized her career in Telugu like no other.

In her current project with Naga Chaitanya, directed by Chandoo Mondeti, she is playing Chai's female lead. The news is that Shruti is done with her part of the shoot, barring a song.

Premam is slated for a May release, probably two weeks ahead of Brahmotsavam's release, giving for itself a good enough space to grab the summer cine-going audience.
