Last week, Deeppavali was the sole release. Though it is too early to give a verdict on it, the initial reactions have been encouraging.

This week, we have an interesting fight, as the two films releasing this weekend would be Lee and Pachai Kili Muthucharam.

Lee has Sibiraj playing the lead role. Produced by his father Sathyaraj, the film has Sibiraj in the role of a footballer and Nila plays his love interest. Prakash Raj plays a football coach.

The story is about the trials and tests of being a football player and the shady activities that go beneath a match.

Solomon, the director who caught our attention with Kokki, has made a bold try with Lee, since he has sports as the backdrop.

The name Lee may evoke memories of Chinese martial arts exponents. But it is nothing to do with that. Lee is merely a short form for Leeladharan.

Sibiraj has spoken about his preparation for this character at length. He has shed many kilos for the role and gives us a slightly unkempt feel.

Lee, the footballer’s aim, is to score goals.

Sibiraj’s goal now is get a kick-start to his career and we wish him the best for that.
