After a few back to back hits , V K Prakash is for the first time teaming up with Megastar Mammootty for the film 'Silence' which got to theatres this week.An intended suspense thriller which tells about an advocate who is trying to correct a judgement which he forced earlier , the movie but lost its sheen as its progresses to the climax.

The movie has Mammootty as Aravind Chandrsekhar, a immensity successful advocate with a big set of juniors who are in all awe for his track records. And now he is being selected to become the judge of a district court. But as he gets ready to join the prestigious assignment, an anonymous call starts to come in. At first Aravind dismisses it as someone playing prank but soon he identifies it from someone who has a definite cause for the call. With  the help of the top police officer Niel (Anoop Meonon) , Aravind starts to track the anonymous caller. And when he comes in face-to face, he accidentally get killed. But very soon Aravind realizes that this is just a start of some events as some more are in the hunt of the man who will soon sworn in as a the new judge.

Silence is one movie that does have a fine base plot , but one which lost much on translation. The screenplay and dialogues by Y V Rajesh fails to impress and doesn't pack much in the final reels. With a lot of confusing scenes in the second half , the viewers definitely get a feeling that the movie is moving off track. And the climax in the dam is not that convincing.

Mammootty appears stylish all through the movie in fine glasses and dress codes and   he plays to the demand of the character. He shares a special chemistry with Anoop Menon . The rest of the cast are also OK, but without a fine writing support, the director couldn't pull off a fine suspense drama. His technicians including the cinematographer and editor Mahesh Narayanan does work fine and so is the BG Scores, but the movie may not appeal to any for the definite interests of the audience and is expected to fall out soon from the theatres.

If you go in with the least expectations, this 110 minute drama may appeal to die-hard fans of the megastar.
