There is something really wrong happening! Crossing the limits of three films, six Kannada films are lined up for release this week. The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce norms are flouted.

‘Hendthira Darbar’, ‘Zamana’, ‘Holi’, ‘Preethi Andhre Ishtena’, ‘Parikshe’ and ‘Rowdy Hrudaya’ are releasing this week. ‘Parikshe’ made by MLA of Belgaum district Sanjay Patil is releasing in B centers while all other five films are releasing in Bangalore and announced the date as July 2nd in the advertisements released in regional daily on Wednesday.

With already many touch and go films in the 60 films released till June 25th the six Kannada films releasing is a big surprise.

The popular Tamil film made 14 years ago ‘Varavu Ettana Selavu Pathana’ of V Sekhar is ‘Hendthir Darbar’ in Kannada produced by G Ramachandran. The stories of V Sekhar are popular in Kannada films like ‘Yaarge Salathe Sambala’, ‘Ellara Mane Dosenu Thoothe’, ‘Hendthi Heldengi Kelbeku’ etc. He directs his first Kannada movie. Actor cum director Mohan has penned the dialogues while Raju Mahendra is the cameraman of this GR Gold Films movie.

This is the first film for top actress Meena after marriage. Ramesh Aravind and Meena play middle class couple with two children. Rangayana Raghu, Sadhu Kokila, Ambika Soni, Preethi are the other important characters in this film. Sadhu Kokila has scored the music.

The well known Hindi films actor Jackie Shroff comes back to Kannada after ‘Care of Footpath’ in ‘Zamana’ directed by Lakki Shanker Aditya for his story and screenplay. Nithin and Akarsha play the lead with Vinith Kumar, Sunder Raj, Sadhu Kokila, Bharat Bagavathar, Soorya, BJP, Nagaraja are also in the cast.

‘Holi’ partly historical and partly social film, the debut of already popular heroine Ragini is also hitting the screens this week. Veteran Shankar Linga Sugnalli’s wife Lalitha and Rajyalakshmi produce ‘Holi’. Amarapriya has scored the music. Prof GH Hanneradu Math and Pundalika Kalliganur have written the lyrics and dialogues. Shobaraj, Karibasavaiah, Padmaja Rao, Pavitra Lokesh, Bank Janardhan are also in the supporting cast.

The focus of the film ‘Parikshe’ is on the upper and lower caste barricade plus the dogging issue of the society- AIDS says director Chiru Ravindra. Anu Prabhakar, Muni, 97 years Enagi Balappa are in the cast. There is not much of news about ‘Rowdy Hrudaya’ and ‘Preethi Andhre Ishtena’.
