Continuing the series of Tollywood deaths, senior director Beeram Masthan Rao who directed seven films between 1979 and 1987 passed away at Bharati Raja Hospital in Chennai on Tuesday, the 28th January. He was ill for the past few months.
A product of 'Praja Natya Mandali', he directed films with a social touch. He directed films like Burripalem Bullodu with Krishna and Sri Devi, Viplava Sankham with Madala Ranga Rao and Suvarna Sundari in 1985 got him Bronze Nandi award for the third best film in Telugu.
Later he directed a film with Late NTR titled Prema Simhasanamthat introduced Rati Agnihotri to the Telugu screen. His other films include Talli Godavari, Viplava Shankam, Gayyali Gangamma andSuvarna Sundari (1985). He also directed couple of TV serials.
Maddineni Ramesh, the general secretary, Telugu directors' association expressed his deep shock and conveyed condolences to his fam,ily on behalf of the association.
