Mani Ratnam’s films are usually surrounded by guesses and speculation as the ace filmmaker likes to keep every detail, including his lead actors, under wraps and present the film as a surprise package to audience.

It was earlier reported that his next film, ‘Pookadai’, which is said to throw light on the fisherfolk in Tamil Nadu, will roll with Karthik’s son Gautham and Radha’s daughter, Thulasi, in the lead roles. But grapevine is now abuzz that B-town star, Sonam Kapoor is being considered for this role!

Inside birdies have it that Mani Ratnam is keen on casting Sonam Kapoor as his lead lady. The film will go on floors early 2012 and is a full on romantic entertainer.
