Ever since he showed talent and grace in pulling off that difficult role of Circuit in Shankardada MBBS, Srikanth has been a preferred second fiddle for many. Soon after Circuit, he bagged Sankranthi and shared screen space with Venkatesh. It was a role in contrast to what he played opposite Chiru, but his performance endeared him to family audiences.

Meanwhile, he continued to do some mediocre comedies with the likes of Venu, but he did not exactly cover himself with glory in those roles. The films like Operation Duryodhana, Mahatma, Dushasana and Virodhi did not fetch him laurels or awards. When his image seemed to sag without a respite, he found a goldmine in Bapu’s Sri Rama Rajyam, wherein he played Lakshamana to critical applause.

What next for him? He has a meaty role in Nagarjuna’s Shirdi Sai Baba. He plays a Baba devotee in this K Raghavendra Rao directorial. It goes without saying that it is the most prestigious film in his kitty.

Srikanth shares screenspace with Venkatesh in Shadow. Set in the backdrop of mafia world, this film sees him in an intense role. If he would surprise us with his improvisation in Shirdi Sai Baba and Shadow (you could say that S-sentiment might work in his favour, just like Shankardada MBBS, Sankranthi, SRR), he may well come to be regarded as the Second Fiddle Superstar of Tollywood!
