State award presentation, CM for quality in Kannada films

It was a gala evening at Dr Ambedkar Bhavan for presentation of the Karnataka state film awards for 2016. The Karnataka chief minister Siddaraiah was in mood to speak and there was some funny moments too when he said he used to watch four films a day and Dr Jayanathi Edakallu Guddada Mele` twice in his life.

The presentation of state awards for three prominent personalities Adavani Lakshmi Devi, KV Raju and K Chinnappa and 20 others was moment to cherish for the award winners.

The chief minister Siddaramaiah living on his promise by conducting the awards evening on the day of Dr Rajakumar birth April 24 showed his grit and determination.

The major announcement from Karnataka chief minister was addition of new award to exhibitors in the list from next year. The theatre that show best Kannada films would be given state award he declared.

Turning his attention of Dr Rajakumar, Karnataka chief minister said he is the asset of this country. All Kannada Sanghas that were inaugurated by Dr Rajakumar in his lifetime should posses his statue. From next year in all 30 districts of Karnataka the government would celebrate his birth anniversaries he pointed and earned good round of applaud.

Kannada films in Multiplex theatres should be compulsory on 4.30 and 7.30. On the fixation of Rs.200 ticket price the order would come soon he pointed.

The government is giving subsidy to encourage good quality films. It has increased to 125 Kannada films. I would say the quality is missing and double meaning is having main stay in some of the films. This should not be the tendency he said. We used to remember artists and director after watching the film. Now we forget everything coming out from theatres. It should be a creative film at any cost he opined.

National acclaimed singer Jai Ho fame Vijayaprakash, recipient of this year state award delivered a few lines of Beautiful Manasugalu` Kannada film song.
