A Chennai Court on Tuesday extended the stay order against Vijay's forthcoming film 'Thupakki', directed by A R Murugadoss and produced by Kalaipul S Thanu, till Friday.

Also, the City Civil Court posted further hearing on the case too to the same day. The direction was issued when a petition filed by K C Ravidevan, producer of 'Kalla Thupakki', came up for hearing on Tuesday.

According to Ravidevan, he registered the title 'Kalla Thupakki' in 2009 itself. However, those behind the Vijay starrer project unlawfully registered a similar title, with the help of Vijay's father S A Chandrasekhar, who heads the Tamil Film Producers Council.

When the case came up for hearing a few weeks back, the court sought the views of Producers Guild and Film Chamber of Commerce, and issued an interim stay on 'Thupakki'
