Following his success in Chellamae, director Gandhi Krishna is trying to revive his movie Engineer.

Almost a half-a-decade ago, Gandhi Krishna announced the commencement of the movie starring Aravind Swamy in the lead role. And Madhuri Dixit was penciled to act as his heroine in the film. In fact, promos still were also shot with her.

Adding to the high-end cast was A R Rahman’s music.

However, the movie based on a dam being constructed across a village, was shelved after the muhurat.

Now, the director is trying to revive the project. But with Aravind Swamy and Madhuri away from films, Engineer will have all-new cast.

Sources say the director had even spoken in this regard to actor Surya. The latter is said to be convinced with the script. The crew is also busy zeroing in on a suitable heroine.

It looks like Engineer may take off this time.
