Sunil, who reached the star comedian status with his individual calibre, turned a hero with 'Andala Ramudu'. Though the film was a hit, he did not sign films as hero for some time and waited for a good opportunity for a break. Soon he got the chance to play hero in 'Maryada Ramanna' directed by SS Rajamouli and that film was again a big hit. Immediately he bagged an opportunity to work with Ram Gopal Varma for KSD Appala Raju which was bombed at the Box Office.

Recovering from the shock, Sunil now agreed to play hero in a film which is said to be the remake of a Bollywood hit film 'Tanu Weds Manu' to be directed by Devi Prasad. RB Choudary is producing the film on the banner of Super Good Movies.

It is learnt that Sunil is sweating out at the gym for a six-pack as the director was trying to showcase him with six-pack abs in the movie. It is learnt that the film would hit the floors in September.
